Acne Do’s and Don’ts

  1. Do get enough sleep; try to get at least 8 hours of sleep every night.
  2. Do drink at least 10 cups of water throughout the day
    1. I try to drink 2 cups of warm lemon water in the morning. Drinking water in the morning helps your body dehydrate itself. Because when you’re sleeping your body uses water to breath, detox, and digest. So right before I go to sleep at night I drink a cup of water just to make sure I’m hydrated while sleeping
  3. Do eat a balanced diet of fresh fruits, vegetable, less processed food and less sugar. Click here for my weekly menus (Here)
  4. Do use quality skincare products. You don’t need to buy expensive high end products just use products that are geared towards your skin type.
  5. Do remove all traces of makeup oil, and dirt before you go to bed
  6. Do clean your pillowcase and cell phone regularly
    1. On the 1st night sleep on 1 side of the pillow case then turn your pillow over to the clean side for the 2nd. night.
    2. Clean your phone every night before you go to sleep to prevent dirt and germs from spreading.
  7. Do use SPF every morning before you go outside at least SPF 30.
  8. Do moisture your skin. Every skin type needs moisture to keep it moist and balanced.

  1. Don’t touch/ pick your face with dirt hands. Touching your face with dirty hands can leave bacteria on the skin that can cause more acne. And picking your pimples could worsen and leave deep pocket scars.
  2. Don’t use harsh skincare products that strip away your skin’s natural oil
  3. Don’t over exfoliate. I would recommend only exfoliating once or twice week.
  4. Don’t just overuse prescription acne products. Some acne products are so strong it can remove the top layer of skin causing irritation by leaving the skin vulnerable against the outside environment
